Your Stillness and Presence create balance
to support you on the golden path
On this sacred night, the veils between the inner and outer worlds are thin. Chanting the names of Shiva—who represents transformation, consciousness, and compassion—helps quiet the mind and dissolve what no longer serves.
Staying awake through the night is an ancient practice of devotion and embodied awareness, where we may choose to overcome the habit of falling asleep. Whether you just come for the kirtan or stay until dawn, you are welcome to chant, listen, rest, or simply be held in community by this magical night.* THIS IS OPTIONAL!!
Through the practice of kirtan, we offer our voices, breath, and attention as a prayer. Mantras to Shiva calm the nervous system, open the heart, and invite deep inner clarity and connection. As the night progresses, the collective rhythm of chanting effortlessly unfolds into surrendered meditation—carrying us into our own Presence.
We will enjoy a prasad potluck after kirtan. Bring a dish of something happy-making that YOU like to eat to share. Bring something for the co-creative altar, if you like. Wear comfy clothes, white if you have them. There is furniture, but bring something to sit on if you prefer the floor and a cozy blanket to wrap yourself in. Throughout the night, we may tune in to Sadhguru’s Isha program for a time and do more chanting, and – of course – lots of meditation!
